St. Mirren will have it all to do in the quarter final round of the Scottish Cup when they play host to Celtic. St. Mirren have lost both of their matches this season against Celtic in the Scottish Premier League and will try to turn the tide this week in front of their home supporters.
The side managed by Alex Weir are not having a good season as they sit 10th of the 12 clubs in the Scottish Premier League. In their most recent match The Buddies were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Aberdeen. St. Mirren were able to qualify for this stage by holding serve home over Motherwell in their 5th round replay by a score of 1-0.
The visiting Celtic were able to take over sole possession of first place in the Scottish Premier League with a midweek victory away to Kilmarnock by a score of 1-2 thanks to two goals from McDonald. That win gives them 63 points and they sit 3 ahead of 2nd place Rangers. Gordon Strachan's side were winners at home to Queen's Park in the 5th Round and a win in this match would keep their dream of doing the double alive.
