Arsenal are home to take on League Championship side Burnley in a 5th Round Proper FA Cup clash. This contest was originally postponed after Arsenal’s 4th Round match against Cardiff City needed to be rescheduled.
The side managed by Arsene Wenger are coming off of a victory away form home in their last Premier League match away to last place West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns by a score of 1-3. It has been most disappointing season for the Gunners in the Premier League with their hopes of winning the title now a mere pipe dream as they sit 13 points behind 1st place Manchester United. That being the case, winning the FA Cup could go a long way towards salvaging their season.
The Clarets are coming off of a 3-1 win at home over the same West Bromwich Albion outfit that Arsenal beat last week, in their 4th Round FA Cup match. In league play, the side managed by Owen Coyle are in 7th place of the League Championship with 55 points, 1 behind 6th place Preston North End for a spot in the playoffs.
