Another round of the Scottish Premier League is upon us as Celtic return home to take on St. Mirren. Both clubs were away from home last week and each was able to hold out for a draw.
Celtic were away to Motherwell at Fir Park last week and played to a 1-1 draw. In truth it was a frustrating result for the Hoops as a Scott McDonald goal had given them the lead and it was only a late goal from Motherwell that allowed them to salvage a point. That goal kept Celtic from taking over first place in the Scottish Premier League. Instead, the side managed by Gordon Strachan are in 2nd place with 57 points, just behind 1st place Rangers on goal difference while maintaining a comfortable 15 point edge on 3rd place Hearts.
The visiting St. Mirren were also on the road last week and also played to a 1-1 draw which in their case came against Hearts and Tynecastle Stadium. St. Mirren were able to claim a point thanks to a goal in stoppage time from Dorman after Jonsson had put Hearts ahead late in the second half. The draw leaves the side managed by Stewart Gilmour in 9th place of the league table with 28 points, just ahead of 10th place Kimarnock and 4 points behind Hamilton.
