The new look Chelsea are home to play host to the always tough Juventus in the first leg of their knock out stage UEFA Champions League match. This is just one of there knock out stage clashes pitting a Premier League club against a Serie A side.
This will be Chelsea's first European match since former Brazil national side world cup winning boss Luiz Felipe Scolari was replaced by Guus Hiddink- the present day manager of the Russian national team. The club is coming off of a big domestic league win over the weekend away to Aston Villa but they are still 10 points out of first place. This scenario leaves the Champions League as the club's most realistic target left to play for.
Juventus are in pretty much the same boat as Chelsea though they did not make a change at the top with Claudio Ranieri still the manager. Juventus were also winners over the weekend as they defeated Palermo but they remain at least 6 points behind first place Inter Milan in the Serie A. The good news for Juventus as they broke for their trip to London was that all of their top players would be available for this match.
