Stage #8; Morgbegno - Bergamo (209km) :: The 100th Giro D'Italia 2009 / Il Giro del Centenario :: Italy
Back in Italy again, the Giro continues with stage 8. Again it won't
be a flat stage, as we start in Morbegno, drive along the Como lake to
Bergamo. After 65km the riders will ascent on the Culmine di San Pietro
(13km a 4.8%, max 11%) followed by a decent to Bergamo. Not straight,
as they will make a turn to the right taking the Colle del Gallo (6.2km
a 7.0%, max 11%). This col is located on 27km of the finish, followed
by a short descent and a few km before the finish there's another hill.
The finish will be sppeedy as we go downhill to Bergamo. It's likely we
see the sprinters today.
