Middlesbrough are home for a second straight week to face a very difficult Premier League test against Liverpool. Both Boro and the Reds are both coming off of draws in their last Premiership match.
Middlesbrough played to a disappointing draw at home to Wigan Athletic a week ago in a contest which ended 0-0 at the Riverside Stadium. With that draw the side managed by Gareth Southgate are in 19th place of the Premier League table with 23 points, just 1 point ahead of last place West Bromwich Albion and just behind 18th place Blackburn Rovers. Middlesbrough will be missing Digard, Taylor and Riggott to injury.
Much like Middlesbrough, the visiting Liverpool were held to a draw at home by Manchester City at Anfield Road. Manchester United having won their match, Liverpool now sit in 2nd place of the Premier League table with 55 points and find themselves 7 points behind the first place United. The Reds come into this match in high spirits following their big win away to Real Madrid in the Champions League. The side managed by Rafa Benitez are not reporting any major injury concerns at this time.
